Ah college, you evil institution you.
Sorry for the inactivity, guys. But my university has been a bitch. Two words: "SERVICE LEARNING."
Perhaps I should explain. My university has a requirement called "Service Learning." It sounds all nice and fancy, and on paper it is: it's a class where you go out to the schools around town and teach at the after school programs (and since I'm a Japanese Language and Culture major, I teach, with a group of fellow Japanese majors, including

, about Japanese language and culture to students at a local middle school and a local elementary school.
Unfortunately, it also takes up an immense amount of time. I'm taking 18 units and working part-time, basically most free time I have has been all but taken away. But because my school is one of those uber-liberal colleges, I am expected to give up my precious time and money (I used to work 21 hours a week, now I can only work 15) to go out and teach to kids who, honestly, don't give a darn.
But not all classes are bad! I am taking JAPN 312: JAPANESE ANIME AND MANGA!!!! Yes, my shcool now has a class devoted solely to the scholarly study of anime and manga. Where else can you go to class, watch anime like Urusei Yatsura, Ghost in the Shell, Cutey Honey, and Devilman, and then discuss its expression of the Japanese psyche? And on top of this, one of the things we do in the class is create our own manga!! We create and entire storyline from beginning to end, and make at least ten pages of the manga. It is epic, and I love my group, which includes

and

, as well as another friend of ours. Most of the character designs for the main characters are finished (they are posted in my scraps if you would like to see them), and the basic storyline is set. More artwork will be submitted as they are created. Finalized character designs, the complete storyling, and a set of storyboards are due on Monday, so we're excited.
I still emphasize, however, that I am still open for commissions! I am getting a lot of great practice thanks to this manga class, and can easily make room for commissions. The details are up above, and all proceeds go to the "spending money in Japan" fund

Speaking of which, it's almost here! I finished the applications today, and my sensei will send them out on Monday. Officially, move in date is March 23, I think. I'm so excited!! X3
Well, that's all for now! Be prepared for some new TFA art coming your way soon!!

has a way with TFA character, especially Blurr and the JetTwins. Her traditional-digital art mix is clever and easy on the eyes. Check her out! ^_^
